My Lord

The 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons, commanded by Major General Preston, being ordered embark from Ireland for North America, and the under mentioned Trumpets and Strings being wanted to replace a like number worn out, and rendered unserviceable, I have the Honour to acquaint Your Lordship therewith and to desire You will be pleased to receive His Majesty's Commands thereupon, and signify the same to the Master General of the Ordnance, that the said Trumpets and Strings may be delivered out of His Majesty's Stores to Messors. [ sic J Cox and Mair, for the Use of the said Regiment, and the Expence thereof charged to the Estimate of Ordnance for Parliament.
