I have the honor to
acquaint you that His Majesty has been pleased to direct that the Officers who
are to take Charge of the Parties on board the several Transports with Recruits
for Sr Mm Howe's Army, as also on board the Transports which carry out the
Remount Horses for the 16th and 17th Regiments of Light Dragoons shall report
to you, and be under your Command until [sic] their Arrival in North America.
The Parties embark this
Week from Chatham; of which I apprise you that you may be in perfect readiness
to meet the transports at Portsmouth, and take upon the said Command [.]
