My dear Bessie,

 

   …a little excursion which I was under a necessity of making to Brunswick.  Would you believe that it was looked upon as a rash attempt to go by land accompanied by two Light Dragoons, tho' there are not above 5 or & miles of the road, and these next to the shore, but what are occupied by our troops.
