Cornet Sloper of the 17th Regiment of Dragoons under your Command being approved of as Aide de Camp to his Father Major General Sloper, and his presence here being necessary; I have the honor [sic] to signify to you H[is] M[ajesty’s] Pl[easure] that you do permit the said Cornet Sloper to leave the Army under your Command, in order [sic], (order) to his returning to Europe, if the Service will permit and you have no Objection.
