Sir,

I have the honor to signify to You, It is His Majesty's Pleasure, that each Serjeant, Corporal, Trumpeter and Private Men of the Dismounted Dragoons belonging to the 16th and 17th Regiments of /Light/ Dragoons., intended for Service under your Command in North America, shall receive the same Personal Pay as the Mounted Men of Each Rank, vizt.

Serjeants Subsistence at 1 Shilling 7 3/6 Pence per diem for 30 days amounting to   2 Pounds 9 [Shillings] 4 1/2 [Pence] To be paid 1 Shilling per diem... 1 10 [sic] Every 30 days ...... 19-4 ½…                                                                            2  9  4  1/2

 

Corporal or Trumpeter at 1 S[hilling] 7 3/6 d[pence] 10/100 parts of a penny per diem for 30 days ...    1  1  1/2   7  1/2.

To be paid at 10 per diem ------ 1   5 [sic]

Every 30 days  ------------  9  7  1/2    -----------1  14  7  ½

 

Private Dragoon at 9 3/4 d[pence] and 12/100 parts of a penny per diem for 30 days --------------1  4  8  1/4 

To be paid at 6 1/2 per diem ------ 16  3

Every 30 days ------- 8  5  ¼ -------------------1  4  8  1/4

 

I am to add His Majesty has been pleased to direct that two Trumpeters dismounted shall be added to each of the 16th and 17th Regiments of Light Dragoons, from 25th April last inclusive.
