Sir,
I have the honor to acquaint you that I have written to Lieut. Colo. Ainslie at Portsmouth to desire he will apprize the Officers who Command on Board the Transports with Bas Horses, as likewise the dismounted men & remount horses of the l7th Regt. of Light Dragoons, that they are to report to you, and be under your Command until their arrival at General Howe's Army. They are to continue to report to Lieut. Colo. Ainslie until your Arrival at Portsmouth.

Sir,
It
being the King's intention that the Officers who command on board the
Transports with Bas horses, should report to Lt. Colo. Harcourt, and be under
his Command till their arrival at General Howe's Army. I have the honor to
acquaint you therewith that you may communicate these orders to the respective
Commanding Officers; in the meantime they are to continue to report to you
until the arrival of Colonel Harcourt at Portsmouth.
These
Orders are likewise to extend to the Officers commanding the dismounted Men and
remount horses of the l7th Regiment of Light Dragoons.
